1. Who should I contact if a street light is not working properly?

You may contact Kaukauna Utilities directly at (920) 766-5721; or you may contact the Village Department of Public Works at (920) 423-3865 and we will contact Kaukauna Utilities for you.

2. What are the rules for parking on the street?

Per Village ordinance, vehicles are not permitted to park along Village streets or in Village owned parking lots between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. between December 1st and April 1st. Vehicle owners may request permission from the Police Dept. to leave their vehicle parked on Village streets during this period. To request overnight parking permission, individuals should contact the overnight parking request line at (920) 788-7512 and follow the automated system. Fox Valley Metro Police Dept. has established a few guidelines to ensure this program is successful:
• Multiple day parking requests will not be accepted.
• Parking requests must be received between 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.
• Parking on the street will not be permitted when inclement weather is projected.
• Parking requests must include vehicle owners name, telephone number, vehicle location, vehicle description and license plate number.

3. What do residents have to do if they are planning a neighborhood block party?

Residents must apply for a block party permit at 108 W. Main Street, have 75% of affected neighbors sign a form (one signature per household) giving their approval for the block party, and submit their form for approval at least a few days in advance of their block party. Upon approval of the block party by the Director of Public Works or his designee, the applicant may pick up the barricades needed to block off the street. Barricades need to be returned to the Municipal Services Building the Monday following the block party. Questions call 423-3865.

4. If a resident is having work done at their home, can they have gravel, stone, etc. dumped on their street?

The street, terrace, and sidewalk are considered to be public right-of-way. Therefore, nothing can be dumped on the street, including placement of dumpsters that you rent for home remodeling jobs. Please contact the Department of Public Works at (920) 423-3865 to see if it is possible to get special permission to do so.

5. What is required if a resident wants to install/repair sidewalk, driveway aprons, culverts, curb cuts, excavate into the street, or obtain grades?

A permit must be taken out at 108 W. Main Street. Please go to the Permits link to obtain information on associated fees. Property owners may do their own work; however, if they hire a contractor to do the work, the contractor must have a License and Permit Bond and Certificate of Insurance on file with the Village.
