The Fox Valley Metro Police Department K9 Program is 100% funded by community donations that are raised by the Metro Police K-9 Foundation. The Metro Police K-9 Foundation is a community based 501(c)(3) made up of members from both the Village of Little Chute and Village of Kimberly. The Metro Police K-9 Foundation operates independently from the Fox Valley Metro Police Department.
In addition to service our communities, Officer Pynenberg and K9 Rax often assist several local police departments who either do not have their own Police K9s or when their K9 units are not available.
The Metro Police K9 Foundation supports the ongoing needs of our K9 Program, as well as planning and implementation of future Police Dogs within the FVMPD. Money raised funds:
- Program costs (Food, equipment and training)
- Veterinary costs for Police K9s
- Planning and implementation of future K9s
Officer Pynenberg and K9 Rax received their certification training in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Rax is a dual purpose K9, with the ability to detect illegal narcotics as well track and apprehend wanted individuals.
